How Compass Heating and Air Conditioning Started in Business

Beth and Mike met during their tours in the Air Force, where they both supported the mission of the Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS). Mike attended HVAC tech school during the end of his tour of duty while Beth completed her bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma University. Beth is originally from Mount Prospect, IL, so upon separation from the Air Force, they returned to the Fox River Valley to settle and raise their growing family. After working for five years as a service and installation technician at one of the largest HVAC contractors in the region, Mike felt compelled to start his own heating and air conditioning company. “I wanted to take control of my customer’s experience,” explains Mike. “As a service and installation technician, I was at the mercy of my company’s front office staff to get things right, which failed too often. I knew there was a better way.” Dedicated to state-of-the-art home comfort technology, fanatical customer satisfaction, and a commitment to providing a balanced, nurturing, and prosperous work environment, Mike and Beth founded Compass Heating and Air Conditioning in 2011 and have never looked back.
