Ductless Mini Split Deep Cleaning in Elgin & Hoffman Estates

Your ductless mini split has a filter you can slide out and rinse in the sink. Behind that filter sits a blower wheel and an evaporator coil that, on most systems we open up, have never been touched. After a few seasons those surfaces carry a film of dust, cooking grease and biological growth that no filter rinse reaches, because the filter was never designed to protect them from it.

A HydroKleen deep clean is the service that reaches them. Compass is the only contractor in the Fox River Valley operating the HydroKleen system, and we have been doing this work for over a decade.

See what actually comes out

This is a standard residential wall unit, cleaned start to finish. The water is the part most homeowners are not expecting.

Cleaning the filter is not cleaning the unit

Rinsing the filter every month is good maintenance and we recommend it. But the filter is the first inch of a system that runs a foot deep. Behind it, the evaporator coil and the blower wheel do the actual work of moving and conditioning your air, and both are past the reach of anything you can do from the front of the unit.

That is why a system can have a spotless filter and still smell musty when it starts up, run longer to reach the same temperature, or drip water down the wall. The filter was clean. The parts behind it were not.

What a HydroKleen deep clean involves

The indoor unit is fitted with a waterproof containment bib that channels everything we remove into a collection tank rather than onto your wall and floor. The coil and blower wheel are then cleaned in place under controlled pressure with a cleaning solution rated for the job, the condensate drain line is cleared, and the housing and louvers are cleaned by hand.

Nothing is dismantled and carried out to a truck, and nothing is sprayed and left to drain into the pan. You get to look at what came out before we leave, which is usually the most persuasive part of the visit.

What you get back

Performance

A fouled coil cannot transfer heat properly, so the system runs longer to reach the temperature you set. A clean one reaches it faster and stops.

Air quality

Everything the blower wheel has collected is in the airstream every time the unit runs. Removing it removes the source, which is a different thing from masking it.

Running cost

Longer run times are higher electricity bills. Restoring airflow and heat transfer is the cheapest efficiency work available on a ductless system.

Fewer repairs

Most of the ductless service calls we run in summer are blocked drain lines and iced coils. Both are downstream of the same problem.

How often, and what it costs

Most homes are on a two to three year cycle. Go annually if anyone in the house has allergies or asthma, if you cook a lot near the unit, or if there are pets in the room the head serves.

Price depends on how many indoor units you have and how they are mounted, and the cost per unit comes down when we clean several in one visit. Call us at (630) 504-8688 or use the button below and we will give you a firm number before we schedule anything.
